WHAT IS EYELASHEXTENSIONS?
Eyelash extensions are a cosmetic make up application used to enhance the length, curl, fullness, and thickness of natural eyelashes. The extensions may be made from several materials including mink, silk, synthetic, human or horsehair.
DOES IT HURT?
We do everything we can to make sure the procedure as comfortable as possible. The procedure is not invasive, so we invite you to kick of your shoes and take this time to relax.
HOW LONG DOES THE LASH EXTENSIONS LAST?
The average lifespan is between 90 and 150 days. The glue is designed to keep the lash extensions on for the same duration as the natural lash. But it is not advised, keeping your eyelash extensions on for so long can damage your natural lashes or even worse, the hair follicle.
HOW FREQUINTLY SHOULD I GET MY LASHES FILLED?
You should get your lashes filled between 2 and 3 weeks. Fillings differ from lash tech to lash tech, but we at RB Cosmetic Artistry only fill once. We give you a set of lashes, we fill in 2-3 weeks. After another 2-3 weeks we completely remove the eyelash extensions and give you a brand new set.
Below is a visual example of why you need to remove your lashes. The below illustration is not guaranteed, it differs from person to person and from hair to hair.
FRESHLY DONE
Using a small amount of glue, we attach the lash to your natural lash.
AFTER 1 WEEK
After 1 week, your natural lash has grown a little bit.
AFTER 2 WEEKS
after 2 weeks your natural lash has grown more.
AFTER 4 WEEKS
After 4 weeks, your lash has grown out quite allot. Some lashes grow faster than others, this all depends on your lash cycle. When the lash is grown out to much, this can cause damage to your natural lash. This is why we recommend lash fills after 2 or 3 weeks, and then we remove them to give you a new set.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT LENGTH, THICKNESS, AND CURL TO GET?
There are different thicknesses, lengths and curves available. The type of lashes you will be using depends on the desired look, and this should be discussed with your lash tech.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE LOOKS YOU CAN GET WITH THE LASHES?
Different looks can be achieved with different lengths, thicknesses and curves.
Below are 3 different looks based on the amount of hair placed.
CLASSIC
Classic is done by placing one individual lash on your own natural lash. The classic look is a very natural look
HYBRID
Hybrid is a look made out of a combination of fanned lashes and individual lashes. Hybrid give a natural yet fuller look.
VOLUME
Volume is a look that is achieved when using fanned lashes to give a fuller, more dramatic look.
RISKS ASSOSIATED WITH EYELASH EXTENSIONS
Risks associated with eyelash extensions are the following but not limited to:
Swelling
Temporary or permanent loss of eyelashes
Skin irritation of the eyelid
Infection of the eyelid or cornea
If eyelash extensions are not applied properly some of the following can occur:
Stinging and burning in the eye and on the eyelid
Severe swelling
Red or bloodshot eyes
Itching
Pain
Rash

Trichotillomania
Madarosis
