Microblading/Microshading is a semi-permanent brow tattoo procedure, that is performed with a small hand-held tool. Using a feather stroke
Technique to Produce the hair strokes and shading that gives the appearance of fuller
Eyebrows or to enhance the Natural features of the face. Microblading/microshading is a softer/more subtle cosmetic tattoo than some of older
Tattooing methods. Body
Tattoos use ink while cosmetic tattoo procedures involve
Pigments. These pigments are designed to gently fade over time. Fading is desired as it allows the artist to make changes to colour, shape and desired look as client’s natural coloration and facial features changes over the years.
We do everything we can to make sure the procedure as comfortable as possible. Before we start the process, topical anesthetic is applied to the area, followed by a secondary anesthetic during the process, to ensure optimal comfort. Some clients may feel a slight discomfort, but the procedure is relatively pain free.
(PLEASE NOTE that if you are a frequent smoker, or have your appointment during your menstrual cycle, the pain level could be intensified.)
No we do not shave off the eyebrow hair. Some shaping and trimming of the eyebrow hair is done if any of the hair falls outside of the desired shape.
Yes. Scabs will form because the eyebrow is basically an open wound after the procedure. Itching is normal and is expected during the healing process.
The treatment is considered semi-permanent and will fade over time. Touch-ups help to maintain shape, colour, and detail. How often depends on a number of factors including:
Skin type (oily skin fade faster.)
Pigment colour used (lighter colours fade faster.)
Sun exposure (over time can cause fading and discolouration of the pigment.)
Use of daily anti-aging products . These products increase your cell turnover rate and will shorten the life of your cosmetic tattoo.
The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and colour will appear very dark. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The colour will fade from 30% to 70% as it heals. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark due to scabbing. Do not pick at the scabs as this may damage the skin and may cause the pigment to come out with the scab. The eyebrows will lighten up in colour as it heals. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the colour to fully set in. The colour will be light two weeks after the procedure; the skin will look milky due to internal healing. This milky look is normal in tattooing. True colour will reveal itself once healed.
